The World Peace Prayer Society started the Peace Pole Project in 1955 in Japan. This group works to unite people all around the world through the universal peace prayer "May Peace Prevail on Earth".

Today, there are more than 200,000 Peace Poles in 180 countries around the globe, and St. Monica School is honored to have been gifted our three Peace Poles by the St. Monica Girl Scouts. Written on each side of the Peace Poles is the universal peace prayer in English, Spanish, Jananese, and Russian; languages the Girl Scouts selected to represent all the countries from our world.

Each time you walk near one of our Peace Poles, feel a wave of peace come to you.

Each time you see a Peace Pole, think a peaceful thought about a person who needs peace. Each time you think of a Peace Pole, imagine a peaceful world.

Each time you need peace, remember that Jesus, the Prince of Peace, is with you always.

The World Peace Prayer

Lead me from death to life, from falsehood to truth. Lead me from despair to love, from fear to trust. Lead me from hate to love, from war to peace. Let peace fill our heart, our world, our universe.
